This year's Landscape Showcase will introduce a new educational area, 'In the Garden,' where you can gain valuable insights to support your home gardening efforts! We're bringing expert educators together in one convenient space to share their knowledge. Start your journey at the Urban Wood Network's large display garden, where you can explore a variety of educational offerings. Other highlights include the CA Master Beekeepers, UC Davis Master Gardeners, organic pest control tips, a succulent plant sale, and Make & Take activities.
Beyond the educational opportunities, you'll find three expansive display gardens showcasing the latest design trends - ideas you can incorporate into your own backyard. Many homeowners today are creating their own vacation-inspired paradises, complete with family-friendly features, while others seek serene retreats for peaceful relaxation. Three talented designers have been selected to bring these visions to life in unique garden spaces. Take your time exploring these beautiful displays, discover fresh plant varieties, get inspired by cutting-edge design ideas, and learn how to enhance your own landscape.
UCCE Master Gardeners of Sacramento County
This year the UC Master Gardeners will be sharing valuable water conservation tips and education on growing your own edible garden!
No yard is too small to enjoy the benefits of growing your own crops. Trained to promote healthier plants and environments, the Master Gardeners are available to share UC research-based information.
February is the perfect time to visit with a Master Gardener and gather information on all garden and landscape related concerns, pest identification and pruning information.
Our Water Our World
Our Water Our World is an award-winning partnership between city- and county-based water pollution prevention agencies and garden centers and hardware stores that sell pest control products.
They focus on less-toxic, eco-friendly products and techniques because many common pesticides are harmful to sensitive species and ecosystems when they reach local creeks, bays, and the ocean.
Planting a variety of flowering plants that bloom throughout the spring and summer gives you a beautiful garden and can also reduce the number of garden pests.
Visit them at the Expo and receive lots of great information.
California Master Beekeeper Program
The California Master Beekeeper Program provides information on pests and diseases of the honey bee, microscopes to view bees and pests, an observation hive, a bumble bee mascot, honey tasting and a children's crafting section for pollinator-related art activities.
The Master Beekeeper Program uses science-based information to educate stewards and ambassadors for honey bees and bee keeping. They offer classes on native bees and other pollinators as well from the ambassador level to the master level. Be sure to see the display in the Pavilion Building
Urban Wood Network
This year, we are excited to bring you this amazing feature. You won't want to miss this new educational display showcasing the lifecycle of a tree and how one would take an urban tree when it comes to the end of its life and mill it into useable products.
Find out how Urban Wood Network is doing more than just saving trees and wood from the waste stream, by giving them a second life at and getting the highest use product from these trees.
